Worry Isn’t Harmless—It’s a Sign of Distrust

Jesus calls it what it is: infidelity. But there’s a cure.

Daily Devotional

Careful Infidelity

Jesus didn’t say, “Try not to worry.”
He said, “Don’t worry.”
And not because the circumstances aren’t real—but because God is.

Worry seems innocent.
But Jesus labels it as something much deeper—infidelity.
Why?
Because it reveals a heart that’s hesitant to believe God will take care of the practical things.

You can believe in God and still act like He won’t show up in your finances, your future, or your family.
But that’s not faith—that’s fear with Christian language.

Infidelity starts when we say, “I’ll trust God where I can see the outcome.”
Faith says, “I’ll trust Him even when I can’t.”

Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
The Spirit of God will always press the question:
Where does God fit into this?
Into your goals, your vacations, your relationships, your decisions?

When we don’t place God first, confusion and anxiety set in.
We’re tossed around by uncertainty, and we try to hold it all together ourselves.

But Jesus didn’t ask you to carry that pressure.
He asked you to abandon yourself to Him.

Let me speak plainly:
When we worry about what we can’t control, we’re telling God, “I don’t trust You with this.”
That’s what makes it so serious.

But there is a cure for that kind of unfaithfulness—obedience.
Not perfect understanding.
Not perfect circumstances.
Just a simple, willing yes.

Let the Spirit of God lead. He’s pressing you to trust Him today. Answer Him with your life.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.

Today’s Prayer

Father, forgive me for the subtle ways I’ve let worry replace trust.
I don’t want to live like You’re not enough.
Help me walk in full obedience, even when I don’t have all the answers.
I lay down the pressure to plan, control, and protect myself—and I choose to trust You instead.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
