When You Come, Let Go of All But Jesus

He’s not after your personality—He wants your permission to take over.

Daily Devotional

Getting There

God doesn’t care about your personality type.
He’s not waiting for you to be an extrovert or an empath, a leader or a quiet type. He’s not impressed by your natural charisma, and He’s not hindered by your shy temperament.

All He wants is one thing: your right to yourself.

Romans 12:1 doesn’t ask you to offer your skillset—it says to offer your body as a living sacrifice. That means your will, your choices, your independence.

You think you're too broken?
Too rough around the edges?
Too introverted or too complicated?

That’s not your call to make.
Because when Jesus says, “Come,” He means as you are, not as you wish you were.

Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
We like to say, “I’m just not wired that way.”
But God isn’t trying to wire you for comfort—He’s calling you into consecration.

You don’t get to consecrate your personality or your gifts to God until you first lay down the right to your life.

And when you do that—when you fully abandon to Him—get ready.
He will take the raw, unpolished parts of you and make a miracle out of them.
He will turn your life into a holy experiment—one that never fails.

Let go of the myth that your past disqualifies you. Let go of the excuse that you’re not made for ministry, mission, or meaning.

When Jesus says, “Come,” and you come—He will make you echo that invitation to everyone you meet.

Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will send you out to fish for people.

Mark 1:17 (NIV)

Today’s Prayer

Lord Jesus,
I hear You saying, “Come.”
Not because I’m ready, or qualified, or impressive—but because You want me.
I give You the one thing I’ve been holding back: my right to myself.
Make something holy out of this life.
Let the echo of Your “Come” flow through me into the lives of others.
Amen.
