When Prayer Becomes More Than Asking

The Cross doesn’t just shape how we pray—it becomes why we pray.

Daily Devotional

The Cross in Prayer

Too often, we treat the Cross like a checkpoint—
a painful place to get past.

But for the Kingdom disciple, the Cross isn’t something we pass through—
it’s something we enter into.

The Cross isn’t about getting what we want from God—
it’s about becoming one with Him.

Jesus didn’t teach us to pray to get answers.
He taught us to pray because we belong.

When we treat prayer like a transaction,
we get offended when we don’t see the result we expected.

But when we step into the Cross, prayer becomes something deeper—
a life lived in oneness with Christ.

The real answer to prayer is intimacy.

Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
the Father already knows what you need.
But He wants you to come anyway—not to beg,
but to be.

Prayer isn’t just what you do—it’s who you are.
You’re not trying to persuade God.
You’re learning to become one with His heart.

And when the answers don’t look like you hoped,
don’t blame the people around you.
God’s silence might be His way of teaching you,
not correcting them.

Let the Cross shape your prayer.
Let it quiet your striving.
Let it make your communion with the Father look just like Jesus’.

In that day you will ask in my name.

Today’s Prayer

Father,
I don’t come to You to get my way.
I come to be with You.
Let my prayers look like Jesus’—
not just in words, but in surrender.
Let the Cross shape how I pray,
and let Your will shape who I become.
Amen.
