When God Touches What You Treasure

Real surrender doesn’t sound loud—it sits silent in sorrow.

Daily Devotional

Have You Ever Been Expressionless with Sorrow?

There are moments in your walk with God when the Word doesn’t confuse you—it confronts you.

The rich young ruler didn’t argue.
He didn’t ask for clarification.
He just went away…
Silent.
Heavy.
Heartbroken.
Not because he didn’t understand Jesus—but because he did.

Have you ever heard the Lord ask for something that was precious to you?
Your talents?
Your identity?
Your relationships?
Your image?

When God touches what you treasure, there’s no place to hide.
You either surrender—or you walk away in silence.

And here’s the sobering truth:
Jesus won’t chase you.
He’ll just keep repeating the call until your will breaks open to trust.

Kingdom Disciples: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
Sometimes sorrow isn’t rebellion—it’s resistance.
God’s Word is hard when your will is strong.

You don’t need more explanation.
You need more surrender.

And beware—
You can be so rich in your poverty, so attached to your own brokenness,
that even humility becomes your pride.

God’s not looking for a perfect offering.
He’s looking for a surrendered one.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

Today’s Prayer

Lord,
When You speak, I don’t want to walk away in sorrow.
Even if it costs me everything—
I say yes.
Break my will where it’s hard.
Touch what I treasure.
And make me Yours again.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
