When God’s Call Doesn’t Make Sense
The baffling path of obedience leads to a greater purpose.
Daily Devotional
The Baffling Call of God
Jesus walked His disciples straight into confusion.
He told them what was coming—rejection, death, sorrow.
They didn’t understand.
How could they?
It didn’t fit the story they were expecting.
But God wasn’t writing their version of success—
He was accomplishing His purpose.
The call of God rarely makes sense on the surface.
It doesn’t come with clear instructions or visible reward.
Sometimes it even leads us straight into what looks like failure.
But just like the sea calls to the sailor—
God calls to the one whose heart is tuned to His.
It’s not a call to clarity.
It’s a call to comradeship—to walk with Him, even when you don’t understand.
Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin
Sons and daughters,
God may call you to places that don’t make sense—
but they make saints.
You don’t need to figure it all out.
You need to walk with the One who’s already written the end.
Your calling isn’t to control the outcome.
It’s to follow His voice—even when you’re baffled by the path.
Because what the world calls failure,
He calls faithfulness.
All things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished… And they understood none of these things.

Today’s Prayer
Lord,
Help me trust You when I don’t understand You.
Even when the road feels like failure,
remind me that Your purpose is never wasted.
I surrender my plan for Yours—
and I walk with You by faith.
Amen.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Where am I still demanding clarity instead of offering trust?
What if the confusion in my life is actually God’s call in disguise?
Am I following Jesus only when it makes sense—or even when it doesn't?
Healing begins with the blood Jesus shed for us.
“By his stripes we are healed.” - Isaiah 53:5
In the garden, Jesus shed blood for our soul’s healing. At the whipping post, He shed blood for our physical healing. And on the cross, He dealt with our sin once and for all.
Jesus
