When God Makes It Personal

Sin gets vague—until you step into the presence of a holy God.

Daily Devotional

The Concentration of Personal Sin

It’s easy to say, “I’m a sinner.”
But when God draws close, He won’t let you hide behind generalities.

He puts His finger on something specific
That word you spoke in anger.
That compromise no one sees.
That fear you keep nurturing.
That habit you've justified.

Isaiah didn’t cry out about sin in general.
He cried out about unclean lips—the very part of his life that God wanted to purify.

Conviction from the Holy Spirit is not vague. It’s personal.

He starts with the surface sin you can name.
Then He goes deeper—to the root.
And that’s where the real cleansing begins.

Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
There’s a danger in being “generally repentant.”
It lets us feel humble without truly surrendering.

But when you enter God’s presence, you won’t be able to stay general.
You’ll know exactly what the Spirit is pointing to.

Don’t brush past it.
Let the fire of God touch that very place.

That’s where healing starts.
That’s where holiness begins.
That’s how God transforms us—from the inside out.

Woe to me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips.

Today’s Prayer

Holy Spirit,
Thank You for loving me enough to confront me.
I don’t want to stay vague in my sin or vague in my repentance.
Show me the area You want to purify.
I surrender it now.
Burn away the impurity—right at the root—and make me clean again.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
