Is Jesus First—or Just Familiar?

Discipleship isn’t a cause. It’s a consuming, personal devotion.

The Conditions of Discipleship

Discipleship doesn’t begin with a belief system.
It begins with devotion to a Person—Jesus Christ.

Not a cause.
Not a church.
Not even a creed.
Jesus.

And that devotion, Jesus says, must come before your devotion to your closest relationships.
Before your dreams.
Before your comfort.
Before your preferences.

This is not cold-hearted hate—it’s spiritual priority.
It means nothing and no one can outrank Him.

And here’s the truth:
We can’t love Jesus like this in our own strength.
Only the Holy Spirit can pour this kind of love into our hearts.
But when He does, you’ll burn with a holy fire for Jesus that disrupts your whole life.

Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
Many Christians today admire Jesus, respect Him, even follow His teachings.
But admiration is not discipleship.
Discipleship is a love-slavery to Jesus.

If your faith looks too comfortable—too logical—too consistent with the world’s values,
you may not be following Jesus.
You might be following a principle.

Jesus was accused of inconsistency because He obeyed God, not tradition.
And when the Spirit of God fills your heart, He’ll make you look just like Jesus.
Not predictable. Not religious.
But alive. Devoted. Set apart.

Let go of what you think it means to be a “good Christian.”
And let your heart blaze with holy devotion for the One who died for you.

If anyone comes to Me and does not hate… he cannot be My disciple.

Today’s Prayer

Holy Spirit,
Only You can give me the love for Jesus that He deserves.
Burn away my admiration and replace it with devotion.
I surrender my relationships, my habits, my pride, and my logic.
Take my whole life and make me a disciple—not just in name,
but in deep, personal passion for Jesus.
In His name I pray, Amen.
