Fret Not—That’s a Command
Worry isn’t wisdom—it’s rebellion in disguise.
Daily Devotional
One of God's Great Don'ts
Let’s be honest:
Fretting feels responsible.
It feels wise. Mature. Vigilant.
But the Word says—don’t.
Fretting is more than anxiety—
It’s a subtle form of rebellion.
It says, “God isn’t handling this fast enough… or well enough.”
It springs from a stubborn desire to make things go our way.
Jesus never fretted.
Why?
Because He never chased His own agenda.
He fully trusted the Father’s will—no matter the cost.
You’re not called to carry the weight.
You’re called to rest in the shadow of the Almighty—even when everything feels like it’s falling apart.
Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin
Sons and daughters,
There’s no room for “supposing” in the Kingdom.
“Suppose it doesn’t work out…”
“Suppose they walk away…”
“Suppose the money doesn’t come in…”
Fretting is not faith—it’s fear in disguise.
If you let it fester, it will drive you into disobedience.
Instead, put every ‘what if’ under the blood.
Rest in the Lord—not because your situation makes sense,
but because your God does not fail.
Fret not yourself—it tends only to evil.

Today’s Prayer
Father,
Forgive me for every moment I’ve calculated without You.
I choose to lay down my worry,
to stop trying to figure things out in my own strength.
Help me rest in who You are,
even when the outcome is unclear.
I trust You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Where are you fretting in your life today?
What would it look like to surrender control in that area?
What truth about God are you forgetting in your anxiety?
The kingdom culture embraces risk and boldness.
“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.” - Acts 4:29
In the Book of Acts, the disciples didn’t pray for protection or comfort—they prayed for boldness. The kingdom is not
