Devoted to Jesus—Not Just His Mission

Your service doesn’t begin with action. It begins with love.

Daily Devotional

Service of Passionate Devotion

Jesus never asked Peter, “Do you understand My theology?”
He didn’t say, “Will you work hard for Me?”
He asked, “Do you love Me?”

Why?
Because true service begins with passionate devotion to the person of Jesus, not to the causes of Christianity.

We’ve made the mistake of swapping intimacy for industry.
Many today are more loyal to ministry than they are to the Man.
More committed to the mission than to the Messiah.

But Jesus didn’t say, “Be devoted to My movement.”
He said, “Be devoted to Me.”

Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin

Sons and daughters,
I want you to ask yourself this today:
Am I following Jesus, or just working for His organization?

You can burn out fast if you're only fueled by the needs of others.
But when your love for Jesus is personal and passionate, service becomes the overflow of intimacy—not the substitute for it.

You can endure betrayal, rejection, criticism, and invisibility if you’re rooted in devotion to Him.
But if your motivation is the cause alone, you’ll dry up when it costs you something.

That’s why Jesus didn’t say, “Go feed My sheep” first.
He said, “Do you love Me?”

Because only love can carry the weight of obedience.
Only love can make you kneel down and wash feet.
Only love can make you die like a seed in the ground and believe it will still bear fruit.

Again Jesus said, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Take care of my sheep.

Today’s Prayer

Jesus,
Let my love for You come before everything.
Not ministry. Not mission. Not even people’s needs.
I don’t want to just serve—I want to serve because I love You.
Refill my heart with passionate devotion.
Let everything I do flow from that place.
Even when I’m tired, even when I’m misunderstood,
Let my love for You be the reason I keep going.
Amen.Hey there!
