Ask Like a Pauper, Receive Like a Child
You don’t receive because you don’t ask—and you don’t ask because you don’t realize how poor you are without Him.

The Next Best Thing to Do
Some of you are waiting on God, but He’s waiting on you… to ask.
Asking is one of the hardest things to do—not because it’s physically demanding, but because it humbles you. It confronts your pride.
It forces you to admit:
I can’t do this without help.
We long. We struggle. We reason.
But we rarely ask from the depth of our need.
And yet Jesus says with no hesitation:
“Everyone who asks receives.”
The truth is, we don’t ask until we feel desperately poor—spiritually bankrupt and aware that nothing in us can solve what only the Spirit of God can do. And that’s where real prayer begins.
Don’t ask for comfort. Don’t ask to look spiritual.
Ask because you know you're empty—and trust that He loves to fill the hands of those who come to Him with nothing to offer but need.
Kingdom Discipleship: A Word from Pastor Kevin
Sons and daughters,
Do you know why some of you haven’t received the breakthrough?
It’s not because God is ignoring you—
It’s because you’ve been trying to earn what He only gives to beggars.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t respond to pride. He responds to poverty.
That’s why Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit.”
Because only the poor ask without shame.
Only the poor cry out with urgency.
Only the poor come to God with open hands, not full resumes.
Some of us would rather suffer than ask.
But today, I’m calling you back to the simplicity of the Kingdom:
Ask. And ask again.
Beg if you must. Because God is not offended by your poverty—
He’s drawn to it.
For everyone who asks receives.

Today’s Prayer
Lord,
I confess—I’ve tried to manage without asking.
I’ve tried to earn what only You can give freely.
Today I come like a pauper, aware of my lack.
Give me more of Your Spirit.
Give me the wisdom, the strength, the grace I don’t have.
I am empty, but You are full.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
